Installation Constraints

To ensure proper functioning of AI-INCIDENT the camera should be positioned so that it creates a 30° angle with the street. AI-ROAD3D

Moreover, the camera should frame the back of vehicles, so to avoid problems due to car headlights; it is also advisable to use an outdoor varifocal camera. Cameras should be installed on a pole or any other steady element, otherwise the vibrations could negatively affect the performance. Minimum height required is 5 meters (it is crucial to avoid occlusions between vehicles and that the whole vehicle is framed in the image and not just a part of it.), with a tilt angle of 15°. Lastly, please remember that to properly detect vehicles the minimum pixel area required is 50x50; any eventual zoom has to be configured according to this requirement. AI-ROAD3D

Traffic monitoring sensor configuration

Monitoraggio Traffico

In the drop-down menu on the left, by selecting "Algorithm Parameters" and then “Traffic Monitoring” you can draw an area of interest directly on the live image on the left. The area of interest is a polygon with four vertices, with a line that shows the direction of travel.
Here some informations on how to set configuration parameters of this sensor:

  1. Sensor ID: identification of main sensor (only accepts whole numbers and it is not necessary to edit the default setting)
  2. Sensor Name: unique name of the associated sensor and used in events generation

In this panel you can also enable the following options:

  • Enable queue detection: sends notification when vehicles start queuing.
  • Enable wrong way detection: sends notification when a vehicle travels in the opposite direction of the sensor, allowing identification of vehicles traveling in the wrong direction.


Stationary vehicle or pedestrian sensor configuration

Veicolo Fermo o Pedone In the drop-down menu on the left, by selecting "Algorithm Parameters" and then “Stationary vehicle or pedestrian” you can draw an area of interest directly on the live image on the left. The area of interest is a polygon with any number of vertices.
Here some informations on how to set configuration parameters of this sensor:

  1. Sensor ID: identification of main sensor (only accepts whole numbers and it is not necessary to edit the default setting)
  2. Sensor Name: unique name of the associated sensor and used in events generation

In this panel you can also enable the following options:

  • Enable pedestrian detection: sends a notification if a pedestrian stays in the frame for a timespan at least equal to the latency ("Latency (s)").
  • Enable stationary vehicles detection: sends a notification when a vehicles is stationing in the frame for a timespan of at least the latency ("Latency (s)").
