Installation Constraints

No specific positioning requirements need to be fulfilled to enable proper functioning of AI-Overoccupancy It is advisable to draw AI-Occupancy regions by selecting the walking areas only so that occupancy percentage is computed those specific regions and will not be underestimated due to "still" elements of the scene that cannot be occupied by moving people.

Over-occupancy sensor configuration

In the drop-down list on the left by selecting "Algorithm Parameters" and then “Occupancy areas” you can add, remove and edit areas to estimate over-occupancy.
By clicking “Add sensor” you can draw a virtual coil inside the image through "Re-draw the sensor", until a coil of desired dimensions is drawn. For each sensor added it is possible to configure the following parameters:

  1. Confidence: A small value (< 0,5) makes the algorithm extremely sensitive, while a value that is too high (> 0,8) might lead to missed detections. It is advisable to use a value between 0,5 and 0,75.
  2. Inhibition: Inhibition time in seconds after an alarm is generated by the specific sensor.
  3. Latency: Minimum time of overoccupancy (number of people is higher than a certain threshold) before the alarm is generated.
  4. Overcrowd minimum threshold: if occupancy in the region of interest is above a certain threshold, the application generates an overoccupancy alarm.
  5. Overcrowd maximum threshold: if occupancy in the region of interest is under a certain threshold, the application generates an overoccupancy alarm.
